Will an edelbrock 410hp crate engine fit in my 98 camaro?

im thinking of putting an edelbrock 410 crate engine in my camaro but before i buy it i want to make sure it will work. Will an edelbrock 410hp crate engine fit in my 98 camaro?
I'll be another to chime in - it makes no sense to go with a Gen I engine in your Camaro, when the LS series engines are a much more appropriate fit. If you have an existing LS engine, you can pull over 400 hp out of an LS without much effort, so your money would effectively be wasted on old-school tech. Its also not emissions-legal, the fuel injection system would not work without a lot of finagling, and if you're considering moving back to a carburetor, that makes no sense either, since the injection system on an LS is far superior to a carb (not to mention very performance friendly as well.

You didn't mention whether you're considering this swap to a V6 Camaro, either. The swap will entail a bunch of additional modifications if you're doing that switch.

If you're bent on swapping the Edelbrock in, know it won't be a straight-in drop - the distributor will interfere with the cowl (the distributor is rear mount on a Gen 1, remember, so it'll poke up right where the engine slides under the cowl). You will need to do a low-profile cap distributor with a remote coil. You will also need to adapt the old bellhousing/trans mount on your engine to the trans - the dimensions on trans mounts is different on LS's - they make adapters, so that isn't too terrible.
I wouldnt if i were you. If you have the LS1 Camaro i would just build that up. There will be a lot of tuning issues you will have with this engine. And you might have to get a new computer if it cannot be tuned. Also you will need to get a new K-member. And possibly a new bell housing. And few other things. To be honest. its not worth the money to drop that engine in. Well hope this helps. Good Luck with your swap:)Will an edelbrock 410hp crate engine fit in my 98 camaro?
not without a conversion kit.. but may i ask why you would do this.. when a LS1 has more potential.. and is a direct swap
i agree with jmgx3Will an edelbrock 410hp crate engine fit in my 98 camaro?
ya but please dont but if you do send that ls1 my way please. there is no point in it unless your ls1 is screwed and cant get fixed. also the edelbrock is heavier and not as streetable. go to ls1 tech and ask around what you can do to get 400hp. if you don know how to build a engine get your engine rebuilt to around 400hp with forged internals if your going to race it, it'll be lots less then for the engine.
Will it "fit"? Yes. It it's a Gen1 small block though, it's not a direct bolt in.

You're better off building a LS1 or any variation of that and dropping it in.
