I'm look at to diff blocks wonder which is the better buy, this one or the one with the lunati cam in itHp in 78 355 with rv cam, headers, dual exhust, 202 heads, holley 600 on a edelbrock intake ?
It is a completely mismatched combination.
The Lunati cam is about the most void of quality control and consistency of camshaft as you can buy. At least I can say that based on every one of them that I have checked. I have checked hundreds if not thousands of them. You can't even get repeatability in two identical grinds.
We laugh at them whenever someone sends us on to check with a cam Dr. We call them "Looney."
Sized right, single exhausts on a naturally aspirated small or big block Chevy will ALWAYS make more torque and horsepower than duals will, and all the way up to 7,000 RPM.
2.02 valves are a total loss in a 350 at street rpm levels. Especially with a Hydraulic cam.
In answer to your question: If I were you, I would kiss the ground if you make anywhere even close to 275 horsepower. 90% of the time, a stock head will flow more with the stock valves than it will with 2.02's in it because the guy doing the valve seat work has no clue what he is doing. The valve seat and the valve throat area are VERY critical areas for either helping or drastically hurting flow.
Also, it is not simply about peak flow, it is about velocity in the port.
