Does an edelbrock carb add a significant amount of hp to my engine?

i bought a 66 ford mustang and i dont know much about the engine since it looks like the previous owner worked on it and it had an edelbrock carb and i wanted to know if i makes any difference at all|||edelbrock carbs are a great out-of-the-box carb. Meaning, most of the time you can bolt it on right out of the box without any adjustments. As for HP, you will get a little bit more. If it's a daily driver or mild street racer the edelbrock carb will be great. I've got them on all my mild street cars. All my drag cars either have holley's or Demon's on them.|||depends on the model of carb and how efficient it is compared to the original one equipped. I'm guessing a 5-10 HP gain depending on the model, along with some fuel economy.|||If the rest of the engine is stock then you may notice a slight seat-of-the-pants gain in performance, but for a well built performance engine those carbs suck to the extreme. They are only pretty and "all-show-and-no-go." A Holley 600cfm double-pumper with the air horn cut off would do a better job.
