I have a 454, edelbrock 1406. Thin white smoke, smells of carbon dioxide and gas, black chalky sparkplugs.?

I have run this at idle several times after brand new spark plugs. I drove it once, very sluggish acceleration. If i floor it it bogs and almost dies. I think its running way too rich, adjusting idle mixture screws doesnt help, or im adjusting them wrong. what do i need to make this run leaner, do you think i need a new carb or a rebuild?I have a 454, edelbrock 1406. more than likely it's running a little too rich, you need to buy a edelbrock carb recalibration kit from summit racing or jegs and install differen't jets and metering rods.I have a 454, edelbrock 1406. Thin white smoke, smells of carbon dioxide and gas, black chalky sparkplugs.?
mite be a blown head gasket, check there is no water in the oil or oil in the water.
