I'm trying to adapt an Edelbrock carburetor to an Oldsmobile 303 engine. I can't get the throttle linkge right

The car is a 1953 Olds 98. The carb bolts right up but the stock linkage is opposite from what the Edelbrock requires. Also, the transmission is an automatic and I need to find a way to make the kickdown linkage work as well. Are there any adapters or brackets available to make this work?|||call edelbrock and see what they tell you and they probably have something to adapt it so it will work.|||yes you can buy after market brackets to fit usually edelbrock or holly but can get pricey try a wrecking yard first|||Contact the nice people at Year One auto supplies. I have two classic cars and they have treated me great. You could try this though: Go find a throttle cable from a later model car and fab it in, there has to be someway of attaching it to pedal. The kick down issue is solved at the carb. I assume you have a control rod K.D. on that old a car so switch to a 350 t.h.m. and toss the 2-spd. powerglide in a nearby lake.(just kidding, it would be better to donate to a museum) with the 350 t.h.m. you will get better driveability and eliminate those pesky compatibility problems.
