What would be the best Edelbrock intake manifold and carburetor for my 1986 caprice classic ?

I have a stock 305 small block but i want to install a new intake manifold and carburetor from Edelbrock but i dont know which one out of the different models they have will be right and easy to install just to replace the stock with a better manifold and carburetor nothing too performance. Thanks in advance for any help!|||Iwould say Edelbrock performer alu.{PN2101] the breauty of the perf intake is that it will accommodate either a spread bore-style carb like the rochester Q-jet or the standard holley square patten All you need is the correct carb. base gasket and a flat square plate Edelbrook supplies with the manifold are you can buy separately At around5500 rpm you will gain +20 tor.%26amp;around +21 hp That my app!|||If your not going for performance, leave it origonal (really, it's a 305, no performance can be made from this engine) ,, those vaccum lines on the carter quadrajunk are hell, and if you have one leak or disconnected hose, it plays havok with the engine. ALSO, you said you have an 86? Make sure it isnt throttle body injection, they look like a carburator and untrained individuals would never be able to tell the difference. After 85, G.M. started with the throttle body's and many people pulled theyre hair out trying to convert them back over (havent heard but one or two sucess stories out of 1000's of stories from that mess).|||Its a 305 so don't go overboard here. What plans do you have for it later is a big question?

If your sticking with the 305, and not looking to swap heads, cam, etc later then go with an edelbrock performer intake and elec choke 500cfm carb

If you plan on swapping to a 350 engine, or doing more mods to the 305 like cam, head, higher compression, etc then go with the edelbrock performer RPM intake and a 600cfm carb|||rpm air gap performer [duel plane] if you got money

just a perforner or performer EPS if poor

jegs, com sells a rebuilt 500cfm elect choke edelbrock carb for 275 dollars new 307 dollars..

holly costs a lot more and r ment for hot roding and need adjusting/tuning.|||hint the l69 Ho 305's came stock with an aluminum intake.

Just find a ss mote carlo or even the 728 with the l69.

While your there grab up on the aluminum flywheel if it's still there.

otherwise you can go with the performer intake|||Jegs, Summit Raceing have kits ready to go.
