How much power can i expect from putting a edelbrock rpm manifold and a holley 650?

This is on my 100% stock 305 in my caprice. will it make a noticeable difference?|||Un HUh... You gave a good answer till the end.. Your a race car engine builder and you use the term "3/4 racing cam"

Come on man, this aint 1958.. Theres way too many grinds to say 1/2, 3/4, full racing cam.

Heck when people says that around me, I tell them an engine aint gonna run too well with 4 of the lobes missing off the cam..

What end you want to cut a 1/4 off of, the front or the back.. You'll loose the dizzy/cam gear on the back and the timing gear up front.. Or are you planning on cutting those 4 lobes off and then welding cam back togethet so you have both gears.

Now to the asker.. On a stock 305 you may gain 10 HP from the intake and carb swap now..

But you add better heads, exhaust, cam, compression.. and that same intake and carb that only adds 10 HP now will add 30 HP then. If that makes any sence to you..

Right now your stock engine can't really take full benifit from the higher intake flow and extra fuel.

Now to the 1st person.. Please watch what parts you recommend to people. Not just all heads will fit the 305. Due to its small bore size a 1.94" intake valve is the biggest that will work w/o hitting the block deck/side of cyl wall.

Most aftermarket alum heads (like the edelbrocks you recommened) has 2.02" intake valves. Those larger valves will hit|||Inspite of what Pedro says you will not gain 20 horsepower.

The larger carburetor and intake manifold increases your intake system's capacity to deliver more fuel/air to the cylinders...

however, you need a system in place to handle the increased flow. A longer duration camshaft holds the valves open longer to allow more time for the fuel/air to get into the cylinders on each stroke...

With that said, we now need a system that can handle this larger volume of exhaust gases -- i.e. headers and free-flow exhaust.

Just the installation of the carb and manifold might deliver 5 percent horsepower increase. The addition of headers will add another 10 to 15 percent. Throw in a 3/4 race cam and you'll get a sudden HP boost of 20 - 25 percent more.

Good luck!!|||it should gain you 20 + hp...the problem with a 305 is lack of cubes and bad heads...for a 40 HP gain get aluminum heads..edelbrock makes a good set for about 1000 dollars|||about 15 or 20 horsepower for both additions and yes you will feel the difference.
