Can I put an aftermarket Edelbrock carb on a stock cast iron intake?

And also, my truck has a pollution pump and cat converter. The carburetor is non-emissions. Does this mean the carb will not work on my truck? If so, is there a way of bypassing the emissions? Thanks.|||That depends, is this a carbureted truck or fuel injected? Assuming it's carbureted, is the original carb a two-barrel or four-barrel? If it's a four-barrel, you probably can switch to an Edelbrock carburetor as long as you make sure you have proper throttle linkage, etc...

Your truck will still function if you bypass or remove the emissions equipment, but you might have a hard time getting it inspected if they notice you've altered it. If your truck is already equipped with EGR, get an EGR Edelbrock and keep everything hooked up so you don't give anti-car jerks a reason to pass more laws and restrictions against people who like modifying cars. And trust me, taking the cats off of a street driven vehicle won't boost your performance that much, especially if you haven't installed a performance intake or mufflers. When you take it to a track, by all means take them off for maximum performance if you feel like it. Otherwise leave them on or get high-flow models.|||Assuming that you had a carburetor to begin with, you should be able to do it. You will probably need to get an egr plate, a spacer/adapter for the difference in the bolt patterns, and a throttle position sensor. You are headed to a lot of possible problems. You may want to rethink this.|||It will bolt up to the manifold, but putting a non emission carb on an engine with emissions will be a pain in the neck.... get a carb that is set up for emissions.|||You need to get the carb that is designated for your engine. Bypassing emissions will not just fail you for inspections, it is a federal offense.|||THATS FINE , IT WILL STILL WORK, BYPASS EMISSIONS , JUST MAKE SURE THE CORRECT BASEPLATE IE: SPREADBORE OR SQUAREBORE......IT WILL WORK JUST FINE EVEN THOUGH ITS A NON EMISSIONS UNIT|||First of all to answer this question correctly I need to know the year make and model of your truck and the engine size, 2 barrel or four barrel carb. If you can define these details I will gladly answer your question to the best of my ability
