Are Summit Racing cylinder heads basically Edelbrock?

I heard from a friend of of mine in the shop I work at, that the Summit Racing cylinder heads are Edelbrock heads basically with the Edelbrock logo ground off. I need to confirm if this is true. As much as I would like to put Edelbrock heads on my engine, I can't spare $1400 to do so. If this is true, it would save me a great deal of money.|||You only wish they were! Summit brand engine parts are all imported from China. The casting quality and performance isn't even close! Edelbrock engine parts are cast and machined in California. Brodex makes better cylinder heads than Edelbrock.

Rather than throw your money in a rat hole for far east parts, look into Chevrolet Vortex, Dart or AFR cast iron heads.|||Country boy... Your are dead wrong and have no clue what your talking about.

Summit brand parts (just like jegs brand parts) are factory seconds from the name brands.

Summit buys them un finished/un boxed and packages them, their self.

Remember a second/blem does not mean a bad part, just not one that pass the brand name's company;s QC. Like the mufflers. If a muffler case gets nicked/dented it can not be sold as a new muffler to public. So the maker sells all of the blems to a place (like summit), thenthey (summit) packages it in a plane white box and sells it as their own.

I deal with this stuff daily (own and run a performance shop). I have seen in person all house brand parts, have talked with the sales reps and every company, have bought and used all the parts you can think of. So I do know what's what

The summit sum-162111 and 162112 alum sbc heads are Brodix IK200 seconds.

The summit sum-162109 and 162108 are in deed edelbrock seconds

summit 7 qt oil pans are milodon's seconds

summt hyper pistons are KB seconds

summit cranks and rods are eagle seconds

summit turbo mufflers are dynomax super turbo seconds

Summit camshafts use to be Crane cams seconds but I aint sure now since crane went out of bizz last year and was bought up and re opened

Summit blue alum roller rockers are Proform

Summit timing chains are cloyes

Summit alum rad. is northern rad.

Summit torque converters are B%26amp;M

Summit flexplates are|||i dont believe they took the chances of doing that/they may have gotten a set of edelbrocks to redo and then took the logo off/but to do that on a wholesale basis is foolhardy and stupid|||Summit sells Edelbrock items but does not "grind off" their logo. If you want quality parts, you pay for them.
